Skills for life:

If was to get the job as a supply chain logistician I will have the opportunity to gain all the professional skills that would be required, as well as personal qualities, like team work problem solving and self-confidence. Training will be a key feature in my time with the navy and they will help me gain academic qualifications, key skills and GCSEs.  I would also get the opportunity to work towards an NVQ in business administration. I would also be able to become a member of a number of professional organisations such as the institute of administrative mangers, everything I could achieve will be recognised and valued by a future civilian employer.

Promotion:

I would start my career as an able rate and work on a ship or a shore office dealing with a wide range of personnel issues. With experience and further training, I could be promoted leading hand and will them move to a different type of ship or sore unit. I could work with the royal marines, army, or RAF. After that, I could go onto to become a petty officer in a ship or shore unit where I could be in charge of a junior logistician, later on in being a chief petty officer I could take in a specialist role In law, pay or supporting ships at sea and, finally I could be promoted to warrant officer and work in the headquarters. If I show the right commitment, skills, and academic ability, I may also chance to become a logistic officer running the catering, stores and personnel departments. I will be chosen for promotion on merit, so If I work hard, I can  quickly rise through the ranks.
