There are no specific qualifications needed for this job, however I must be ages between 16 to 36. I must have commitment, enthusiasm, common sense and potential to develop strong organisational skills, I will be responsible for storing and supplying large quantities of equipment and supplies. As a result, I will need to be responsible, trustworthy and able and able to plan my work effectively. Above all, I will need to work well as part of a team.

Skills for life:
During my time in the logistics branch I will have the opportunity to gain all kinds of professional skills, as well as personal qualities like teamwork, problem solving and self-confidence. Training will be a constant feature with in my time in the navy, and they will help me gain academic qualifications, key skills and GCSEs. they will also help me work towards NVQs in warehousing. I can also become a member of a number of professional organisations such as the chartered institute of logistics and transport. Everything I do in the navy will be recognised and valued by a future civilian employer .
Promotion
I will start my career as an able rate and will spend my time in the stores department at sea in a ship or a busy naval base. With some experience and further training, I could be promoted to leading hand and may choose to come on shore and work in a number of places, or change to a different type of ship. After, that I may go on to become a petty officer running my own department at sea, or on sore and then later I could become a chief petty officer heading up to a bust sore department or serving at sea again. Finally I could become a warrant officer working in headquarters. If I show the right commitment, skills and academic ability, I may also have the chance to become a logistics officer running the catering, stores and personal department, I would be selected for promotion on merit, so if I work hard, I can quickly rise through the ranks.
